The devil used doubt to mislead Eve, “Did God really say?” (cf. Genesis 3). Any time we question God’s truth with a sarcastic and arrogant attitude, there will be ramifications. But if we approach Him with a sincere heart…a heart that is humble and teachable, He will lead us in the right direction.

The present condition of the church leaves one to wonder if the lack of the fear of the Lord is contributing to her spiritually dead condition: “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked” (Revelation 3:15-17). A healthy respect of God (fear) is what our culture, and the church, desperately need.

We can’t tell a clinically depressed person to “just get over it…pray and move on,” but on the flip side, we can’t dismiss the fact that some depression is self-inflicted.

(The Christian Post featured part 1 on their Facebook page. It received 35,000 views in less than a week and prompted part 2 below.)

A few years ago, I had a conversation with a pastor who suggested that these articles are written from a position of fear. I agree…I believe that these messages are timely and urgent for the vast majority.
