READ ALL OF 12 TONIGHT. The Dilemma: either these apply or they don’t:
1 Corinthians 12:27, “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts.”
1. Many verses written on the gifts and how to exercise them.
What other instructions to the church don’t apply today?
~Not cultural issues, but spiritual issues.
2. No scriptural support.
3. TV is not truth.
4. The American church is Laodicea: “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”
5. Skepticism prevents the gifts: “And He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.”
Matthew 8: When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Sovereignty: We say, YOU WILL …not, YOU CAN
Worship often precedes healing.

2. Views on healing are often based on what we have, or haven’t, experienced.
~Agnostic: “I have never experienced God so He must not exist.”
Many False Teachers hold the Bible in their hand. Why don’t we discard the Bible?
False Gospel…False Truth…gods…religions… FALSE GIFTS!
*What else would the “Gifts of Healing” be called?
The ability? Nope. The Power? Nope. Capability? No…GIFT!

3. Views are often based on who influences us:
Acts can’t be used for doctrine: “But it’s the only inspired book that contains the history of the early church.”
You have a harder case to make that God doesn’t “do that” anymore.
We’ve been conditioned to go to the doctor first:
“In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD, but only from the physicians.” 2 Chronicles 16:12

“God is with us; he is our leader. His priests with their trumpets will sound the battle cry against you. People of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed.” 2 Chronicles 13:12
“Nevertheless, the high places were not removed.”
They said the right things but allowed the high places (the false worship) to continue.
